Opu Isaac, popularly known as OPU, The Boy from Koboko brought hip hop together for a noble cause.The Rapper, under ROW Records partnering with EWA- Africa, is spearheading a social change campaign to fund and facilitate the education system under a project dubbed R.I.C to stand for Reading Is Cool.Over the past few months the project has worked closely with KCCA and URA which recently donated 200 textbooks to his former primary, East Kololo Primary School.
This project is aimed using music to promote a reading culture. On 30th September, OPU brought hip-hop together with the help of other rappers, in the #DrinkForACause Campaign. With performances from Oki Foever, JC Muyonjo, Adrenalyn, and the rising super group, NTM who brought the house down in a powerful performance. The night was crowned off by an intimate performance by OPU himself,who paid homage to the rappers that have inspired him on his journey in his career. This is the first of many more shows we shall be attending under this campaign in the near future.
