UG hip-hop’s battle circuit continues to grow day by day as different rap competitions continue coming up on to the scene. Uganda Rap league (URL) an organization founded by one of the Luga Flow Army Rappers, Foever in partnership with Neal Kelley, founder of Raven Radio is back with its second season. As an organization Uganda rap League provides a platform to the youth to stimulate creativity, positivity and talent through rap. Last year in October, the organization had its first season which saw them organize rap battles in different communities like Kamwokya, Namuwongo and finally concluded at the Hot 100FM explosion.
This year they are back with the aim of changing the mixed fortunes in Ugandan hip-hop through rap battles. Through concluded auditions Uganda Rap League’s second season has 24 rappers who will be battling it out on the microphone for a cash prize of UGX 1,000,000 (One million uganda shillings). The first knockout stage will happenong on 14th August at Kay Club centenary park (entrance is free) and it will feature guest performances from artists like Navio, Keko, Santana, Body of Brian, St. Nellysade and the Break dance Cypher.
